- Set at least one goal each morning
- Prioritize time everyday for YOU
- Treat yourself like you would treat your best friend
- Trust your body and intuition
- Say ”yes “ to help
- Say ” no“ – put up your ‘self love walls’
- Don’t speak badly about yourself
- Be gentle on yourself
- Give yourself permission to grieve and take a break from grief
- Avoid negativity and drama
- Unplug
- Let go of what is out of your control
- Use your village of support
- Laugh
- Take naps
- Get moving- outside, walk, run, garden
- Take up a hobby just for you
- Be patient – grief comes in waves and takes time
- Write down one thing you are grateful for each night before bed
- Repeat steps 1-20
We must make time everyday for self-care. When we care for ourselves, it allows us to cope in healthier ways and have energy for this grief journey.
