OPPORTUNITIES TO HONOR AND GIVE
Often, we hear from supported families and the community that they are looking for ways to honor the ones they have lost and at the same time are looking for opportunities to give back to 3Hopeful Hearts. To meet both needs, 3Hopeful Hearts has created a variety of customizable party or event planning ideas, with corresponding assets that can be used to create a personalized event to honor their child. These efforts are meant to deliver members of our community an easy, step-by-step process, including customizable assets, to create a fundraising event around a special date, holiday gathering, birthday, or other milestones important to their loss, when and how it works best for them. From save the dates, invitations, thank you cards, and tax-deductible receipts, you can easily customize, download and send to your personal list of contacts. All funds raised through this program will support the 3Hopeful Hearts Center for Hope Capital Campaign.
When my birthday rolled around this year, I was asked by my family and friends “What do you want for your birthday?” It took me just seconds to come up with a fundraising effort for 3HopefulHearts. Knowing how invaluable this wonderful organization has been by supporting me and lifting me up since my son’s death made my decision to include them in my birthday fundraising was exactly What I wanted. The response I received from my Facebook friends and family was incredible. We surpassed the target amount and everyone was so thrilled to be able to participate in something meaningful to me, to them and to others who have and continue to receive their love and kindness through a most difficult journey of healing from a child loss. Events or fundraisers don’t have to be complicated, in fact, some supported families have had great success simply sharing theirs on Facebook. Below are some ideas to inspire you, but let your own creativity and passion guide you:
- Have an online or community garage sale
- Pledge your child’s birthday
- Host a community run or yard game tournament
- Do a 50/50 “draw” with your coworkers
- Partner with a local gym and host a workout class
